Tibet lies on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of the southwest border of China. The average height of the whole region is more than 4,000 meters above sea level, for which Tibet is known as "Roof of the World". The highest peak of Tibet, also the highest in Himalayas and in the whole world, is Everest Peak, which is as high as 8,846.27 meters above sea level.
Although a part of China, Tibet has a unique culture of all there own. It is mainly inhabited by Tibetans, a minority nationality of old and mysterious people. Tourist attractions include the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Jokhang Temple, and a number of Buddhist sacred places.

Travel Plan for Kailash Yatra :
Day 01: Arrive at the Kathmandu airport where you will be meet & greet by our
representative and transferred to hotel by private vehicle. Our representative will also arrange for a briefing program on final trip details, which will be held in the evening. You will be informed of the pick-up time, (usually 5:30 am) for your tour. You will be asked to fill out a China/Tibet visa application form and submit your passport and two passport photos so our agent can take care of all formalities the next day. Relax and enjoy. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 02: After B/fast, Kathmandu half day sightseeing by private vehicle. Today is a leisure day in Kathmandu to relax or explore the temples, monasteries and markets of this fascinating city. There are many interesting attractions within 27 km radius, the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath and Buddhist temple of Swyambhunath, the old Royal Palaces in Durbar Square. This is a great day to pick up supplies for your trip to Tibet like extra clothing and snacks. You will be given your passport with China/Tibet visa/permit. Sleep well tonight and prepare for a dreamland journey from the next day. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 03: Early morning drive to Kodari by Toyota Hiace or similar vehicle to (Nepal-Tibet border). After clearing Nepal customs, cross friendship bridge drive to Zhangmu, an over crowded place and the main entrance of Tibet, China. Here we'll be received by guide from our Tibetan counterpart, after completing all formalities related to vehicle customs, immigration and other paper work at the check post, drive little further and overnight Camp at the height of 2,300 m. (145 kms / 6-8 Hrs )
Day 04: An early start, drive through deep green valleys with sparkling rivulets and waterfalls sprouting out of the adjacent hills. The up-winding road with beautiful scenery
as the drive brings us for the overnight stay at Nyalam at the height of 3,700 m (35 km / 2 Hrs)
Day 05: Free day at Nyalam for acclimatization and local hikes around, so that you'll not face any problem related with High Altitude.
Day 06: Early morning drive to the first pass of Lalung La at (5050 m). Beautiful drive to Pai-kutso, the sacred lake of Pai-Kutso and cross over the legendary river Brahmaputra. This is one of the 4 rivers which have its source near Kailash. Drive offers several beautiful Lake's view and from here a scenic high Himalayas can be seen from Gaurishanker, Shisapangma to Langtang Himal. The road bifurcate from here towards Shisapangma on the rugged terrain to Saga (4276 m) one of the large village in route to Mt. Kailash, camp near the village. (232 km / 8-9 Hrs)
Day 07: Another morning drive to Paryang (4500 m) through the windy valley, following rivers and passing many villages and camps of grazing land of yaks and sheep. Far south you can see snow capped mountains and sand duns near by you give you a fusion of mystic world. Depends on season, nomads and other mobile shopkeepers are attired by beautiful traditional costume, waiting for your arrival with hot tea and other supplies along with big smile. (185 km / 7-8 Hrs)
Day 08: Today is our longest drive day from Paryang to Lake Manasarovar (4000 m).The highest lake of fresh water with turquoise complexion in the world. The region
is considered rich for gold and other mines, hot springs and hundreds of wild living creatures. By evening you can have the first glimpse of Majestic holy Mt. Kailash. A Small village near by Lake Manasarovar where we'll be camping at night. (277 km 8-9 / Hrs)
Day 09: Manasarovar is the lake of compassion, tranquility and bliss. It is believed a ritual bath delivers a pilgrim to paradise and drink of its holy water relinquishes the sins ofa lifetime. After completing the memorable morning holy Bath and Puja we'll be heading towards Darchen. It is considered as a base camp for the Holy Kailash Parikrama. The drive passes through open territory with a view of distant mountains, Yak herders camp, if lucky you might come across a herd of wild Ass. The drive takes us to a high pass of over 5,000 m before we arrive at Darchen (4,600 m). (60 km / 2-3 Hrs)
Day 10: Darchen, a small village is located beneath the majestic holy Mount Kailash, start and finish point of the Parikrama /Kora .This circuit covers 52 km and can be done in two & half days. Here we organize potters, yaks & ponies to carry kitchen and communal camping gears for the Kailash circuit trek. During the auspicious pilgrimage time, this place will be flooded with Pilgrims and hundreds of tents all around. The first day of our Kora is a gradual walk with multitudes of other local pilgrims chanting and praying. The trail leads us to
few ups and downs till we reach our camp at Dirapuk (4,750 m) after 5-6 hours walk. Camping on the nice grassy meadows with a view of Kailash, north west face.
Day 11: Today our Parikrama leads us to much higher side of the holy path just beneath the Mt. Kailash. The walk will bring us to one of the highest point of our pilgrimageat Drolma la (5650 m) and it is said that those who pass this gateway will finish the Karma of a full lifetime and start a new life at this point. Very near we find the famous lake "GAURIKUND" (5608 m), the bathtub of Goddess Parvati the wife of Lord Shiva. You have the opportunity to take a sacred bath here and charge your body, mind and spirit. Later we descending to the gradual field towards Zuthulphuk for the overnight camp after 5-6 hours walk. Zuthulphuk has a small monastery.
Day 12: The winding gradual tracks finally ends our holy pilgrimage walk (3-4 hours) at Darchen for the overnight stay at base camp. Over night in motorhome.
Day 13: A leisurely drive takes us back to Chiu Gompa at Lake Manasarovar. Chiu Gompa is at a fabulous location atop hill overlooking the Lake Manasarovar. The drive from Darchen takes a little over 2 hours on the dirt road to Lake Mansarovar. Rest day at Lake Mansarovar for dip in the Lake and local hikes around. We will be camping at the shore of the lake very close to the monastery and its village.
Day 14: Retrace the journey back to Paryang, approximate 8-9 hours drive.
Day 15: Continue drive back to Saga.
Day 16: Drive back to Nyalam.
Day 17: Drive to Zhangmu and after completion of Chinese Immigration and Custom formalities, continue down to the Friendship Bridge / Kodari. After completion of Nepal Immigration and Custom formalities, drive to Kathmandu. This last leg of one of the most memorable journeys of your life offers lush verdant valleys with raging rivers below. Arrive in Kathmandu and stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 18: Kathmandu end of program. Today you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
